Fire crews from Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service came to the rescue of a pony that had fallen in Godshill this afternoon.

Crews from Newport,Shanklin and Ryde were called to the animal rescue at around 1.29pm after the pony became wedged in the Yard at a farm on Munsley Lane Godshill.

The animal fell and became entrapped. A Vet was also called to the scene who assisted the fire crews with the rescue operation. Firefighters spent about an hour rescuing the pony.
The Pony is now recovery from the ordeal.
