Storm Katie Rips off Roofs of Posh Pads in Gosport


STORM Katie has ripped across the south today bringing down trees, knocking out power and causing flash floods. Two roofs on multi million pound properties at the Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport the average value of a property is 400,000. A gust of wind in the early hours of the morning ripped the roof off causing thousand of pounds worth of damage. Emergency services rushed to the scene in Gosport in the early hours of the morning as the roof was ripped off by the serve gails

A gust of 105mph was measured at the Needles on the Isle of Wight.

A yellow ‘be aware’ warning’ remains in place for today with “the potential for 70mph gusts around coasts exposed to the south and west”.
