Serial Flasher jailed for 4 years by Court

Daniel Randall-Coles, aged 25, Millbrook Road West  has been  sentenced to 4 years in prison today (Friday, April 22) at Southampton Crown Court.
Randall-Coles pleaded guilty on March 4 to 15 counts of sexual assault on a female and two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching.

The sentencing comes after Randall-Coles was identified through a police media appeal when officers in Southampton received over a dozen reports of sexual assault from women and girls that had occurred across the Lordshill, Millbrook and city centre areas between Jan 26 and Jan 31.

Each time, the victims reported a man on a black bike wearing fluorescent clothing had cycled alongside them and touched them indecently over the top of their clothes, touching their buttocks or between their legs.

We launched a complex investigation which identified a man through CCTV footage we obtained. After appealing to the public and releasing an image of the man we wished to speak to, Randall-Coles handed himself in at Southampton Central Police Station on January 31.

Some CCTV showed a 12-year-old girl in school-uniform being approached and assaulted by Randall-Coles on a bike in the city centre whilst she was on her way to school.

Detective Sergeant Matt Barcraft-Barnes from the Western Investigations Team said: “This was a complex investigation with numerous victims all reporting sexual assault by a stranger, described in the same way, in various locations within Southampton, in a very short amount of time. We received a large number of reports in quick succession, which we swiftly consolidated to concentrate on bringing in one man.

“With the help from media and the public, Randall-Coles found himself having to present himself at a police station on January 31, less than 24 hours after we released his image.

“Randall-Coles was brazen and arrogant in his approach to committing these crimes, targeting victims aged 11-years-old to 57-years-old across the city for his own gratification. I hope the sentencing here today goes some way to giving the many victims closure.”
