Cyclist Dies after fatal Crash with Lorry in Southampton

A cyclist has died following a fatal crash involving a lorry in Southampton this afternoon.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene at East Park Terrace in the City Centre just before 2pm this afternoon after a low loader lorry was in collision with cyclist.

The cyclist is a local man in his 50s – was rushed to Southampton General following the crash. Despite efforts of emergency services at the scene and at the hospital the man sadly died.

The incident has caused traffic delays with traffic coming to a crawl in the city centre, with two major road East Park Terrace and New Road being  remain closed this evening.

Police at the scene  are appealing for witnesses and drivers who may witness the incident or have car camera footage of the incident. Some witnesses at the scene have been spoken to by Police  who are keen to speak to others. There where a lot of people in the area at the time of the incident ,a spokesman for the Road Policing team said.
