Cyclist Killed in M3 fatal collision near Fleet

Police officers were called to the southbound carriageway of the M3 to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are now appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the collision or the cyclist prior to the collision.

The collision happened between junctions 4a and Fleet services at around 10.40pm last night (May 5).

The 52-year-old cyclist from Aldershot suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene

Police are asking for drivers to contact if they where y ou travelling along the M3 at around 10.30pm last night (May 5)?

If so you may have information that could assist our investigation into a collision involving a car and a pedal cyclist between junction 4a and Fleet Services.

The 52-year-old cyclist from Aldershot sadly died at the scene.

Police Sergeant Martin Mundy said: “We know that there were several vehicles travelling along that stretch of motorway at this time of night so we are keen to speak to these motorists as they may have information which can assist our investigation.”
