Police have this morning cordoned off a house in Southampton following the grim discovery of a body of a pensioner in her sixties.
Officers were called after neighbours raised the alarm of a concern for welfare with a local Southampton Councillor. After the woman had not been seen for sometime in the close-knit road.
Officers dressed in paper forensics white suits have been seen entering the property in Myrtle Road, Lordshill in Southampton for most of the morning, Whilst a fellow officer stands guard.
Shocked neighbours said that were used to regularly seeing the woman, who is believed to be in her sixties, but when they had not seen her for a month or so decided to inform local Councillor who lives on the same road.
Hampshire Police have said that they are not treating the death as suspicious Officers attended the property just after 10.30 on Saturday morning after a local Councillor called with concerns that the popular pensioner had not been seen for sometime.
