Fire Crews Battle To Free Driver After Car Hits Embankment On A3


Emergency services were call just after 1:40pm this afternoon to the A3 Soutbound near Liphook Services after a vehicle had left the road.
Fire Crews from Cosham, Greyshot, Petersfield and Waterlooville along with a rescue support unit from Cosham attended the scene.
Firefighters using specialist cutting equipment in foul weather carried out a complex extrication that took over two hours free the woman who was trapped in a vehicle that was on it’s side.

It is believed that Three people were in the vehicle when it hit flood water careering off the road into the embankment. The two other people other in the vehicle were where treated by Paramedics from South Central ambulance Service at the scene, whilst the third person was cut free from the vehicle. Two people have been taken to hospital. Following the extrication that vehicle was made safe by the fire service.. A specialist Hiab Crane from JD Motors had to be brought in to recover the vehicle from the trees line.
