Lifeboat And Coastguard Called To Speedboat Fire in Lee on the Solent

speedboat fire

Gosport and Fareham Independent Lifeboat and the Coastguard Rescue team from Hill Head were called to a speedboat fire this afternoon.

Rescue crews raced to the aid of the 14 foot speedboat just before 2pm.

The vessel was a float on the busy water near to the Lee on the Solent Slipway.

The incident involved a small fire in the engine compartment of the vessel.
It is believed that the engine caught fire due to a fuel leak.

The Lifeboat was sent to attend in case Coastguard rescue crews could not reach the speedboat, as they have fire equipment on board.

The boat was recovered back onto the slipway. No one is thought to have been hurt in the incident
