Victorious Festival is excited to announce a brand new area for 2016! The World Music Village, will be brought to you by Arms Around The Child, an international charity based in Portsmouth. Arms Around The Child champion the rights of orphaned children by creating campaigns, providing safe and loving homes, as well as funding health care and education. The charity has a history of being involved with exciting events including The Black Ball with Alicia Keys, The Other Ball with Mark Ronson which took place in New York and London and now Victorious Festivals World Music Village.

Pack your bags and prepare to be transported across the globe when you enter the World Music Village with a variety of top performances from around the world. The line up continues to show flair and imagination with a headline DJ set from Neneh Cherry a Grammy nominated, Swedish Born singer-songwriter and DJ best known for hits ‘Buffalo Stance’ and ‘7 seconds’ which saw her win an MTV Europe Music Award in 1994.

Next up, Natty will be bringing his powerful urban blend to the stage. Hailing from North London and originally working in Sphere Studios, Battersea by day he was engineering for some of the biggest names in pop music, and by night this gave him the inspiration to nurture his own sounds. Make sure you don’t miss a performance from Liam Bailey, who has worked with a long list of superstars from DJ Fresh and Shy FX to Rita Ora and Tom Odell. Liam combines American R&B, reggae sounds & vibrations, and blistering blues. The big voice of Eva Lazarus will fill the field as her soulful sound spans across genres from reggae to D&B and soul. Josh Osho joins the party situated somewhere between the boundaries of folk, blues and R&B telling the human stories of old, that reflect a present day truth.

The World Music Village will be showcasing different styles of dance and music throughout the day from a Bhangra Party, featuring Juggy D and Bollywood dancers to Latin dance workshops to the award-winning Steel Pan Jazz Orchestra. Taking to the stage are Kasia Masai, first-class exponents of the Soukas style of music, Urban Voodoo Machine with their lurching sea shanties, Bongo Kanny who are highly-rated on the roots reggae scene, JJ Soul X showcasing her jazz, soul and gospel vocal styles and RU1FAM featuring Subajah.

The World Music Village will also host the People’s Lounge, a space for collaboration, imagination and the open exchange of ideas to flourish. This creative and alternative enclave will display and celebrate Portsmouth’s diverse local talent. For those who want to chill, hang out and experience something new, this is the perfect spot.
