Police have confirmed this afternoon that a 24-year-old woman has been arrested and is being question by detectives over child neglect after her child fell from a window and was rushed to hospital.
A rapid response ambulance and paramedics were called to Renown House in Gosport just after 8:30 this morning a shocked neighbours said paramedics took the young child away in the ambulance and police have been in and out of the block all morning . One neighbour who asked not to be named said the woman was so drunk she was asleep when the incident happen. A neighbour saw the child fall from the first floor window and ran down stair to pick up the child. They where covered in blood. When the emergency services arrived to take the child to hospital the mum was too drunk to go to with them
The child was rushed to hospital and still undergoing tests. It is not thought the child's injuries are to be life threatening
A South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: ‘We were called at 8.39am to reports of a child falling from a window in Gosport.
‘The child was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham after sustaining minor injuries from the fall.’
A police spokeswoman said the child is still undergoing medical tests and investigations are ongoing.
