Man Dies In Fatal Crash On The A3 Near Waterlooville

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision in Waterlooville this morning.

Officers were called to the exit slip road of the northbound A3(M) at junction 4 at 5.45am to reports of a single vehicle collision.

A silver Vauxhall Astra collided with the barrier separating the slip road with the main carriageway and came to rest on the verge of the slip road.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from Southsea, suffered serious chest injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital by paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.

However, the driver died a short time later from his injuries.

The slip road was closed for four hours as roads policing officers carried out their investigations into the exact cause of the incident.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle prior to the incident as they may have information that could assist the investigation.
