Sadly police have confirmed that three have died and one person is currently fighting for their life in hospital despite all efforts from emergency services after being pulled from the water today at Camber Sands beach. All persons were flown to hospital via air ambulance but unfortunately died later on.
At about 2.15pm today (Wednesday 24 August) the UK Coastguard received a report that three people required urgent medical assistance after being pulled from the water at Camber Sands.
UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopters based Lydd and Lee on Solent were immediately sent to the area, along with Dungeness and Rye Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams and Rye Harbour RNLI lifeboat. There is also a Senior Coastal Operations Officer on scene.
An air ambulance was also sent to the location.
