Pedestrian fights for Life after Serious Two car Collision in Basingstoke knocks them from a Bridge


Police are dealing with a serious road traffic collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian on Worting Road, Basingstoke.

Emergency services were called at 9.34am to reports of a collision between a red Vauxhall Astra, a silver Vauxhall Vectra, and a pedestrian.

As a result of the collision, a man has fallen on to Ringway West below and sustained serious injuries.

The drivers are believed to be uninjured at this time.

Road closures are in place on Ringway West southbound from the Thorneycroft Road roundabout, and Worting Road is closed at the Sandys Road roundabout.

Further closures are in place at the Morrisons roundabout and the slip road where the northbound carriageway of Ringway West joins Worting Road.

The northbound carriageway of Ringway West is open, but is heavily congested and traffic is currently at a standstill.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting Operation Supercell.
