Driver arrested after Fatal Collision in Southampton


A person has died following a fatal road traffic collision involving white Toyota Yaris on Thornhill Park Road in Southampton in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or the vehicle prior to the collision. Officers from the serious collision team are appealing for driver who may have in-car camera footage of the incident that happen just after midnight on Friday night. The road was closed for a number of hours whilst officers carried out their investigation, A pedestrian was found to have been in collision with a white Toyota Yaris outside the Bitterne Public House.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old man from Southampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The driver of the vehicle is assisting officers with their enquiries.
