Police Investigate Stabbing in Portsmouth

UK News in Pictures can exclusively reveal that a man was viciously attacked and stabbed in the neck a number of times just after 3.30am this morning in Fratton.

Somebody close to the investigation said that the man was also stabbed last year

Scenes of Crime officers dressed in white paper suits have been carrying out a detailed finger tip search and placing numbered triangles in the road. A police van marks the spot of the gruesome early morning attack.

Shocked residents were greeted with a swarm of police officers and blue tape as they opened their curtains on Lake road this morning.

The roads remain closed and traffic has ground to a half in the city.

The 38-year-old man was rushed to QA Hospital and is fighting for his life.

St Mary’s Road, Fratton Road, Kingston Road and Lake are all closed to traffic and pedestrians.

UPDATE 1110: This just in from the Police :
Police have arrested two men following a serious assault in Portsmouth in the early hours of this morning.

A 38-year-old man was found with a serious injury to his neck in Lake Road and was taken to hospital. He is currently in a critical condition.

As a result of the investigation some road have been closed.

St Mary’s Road from Woodlands Street and parts of Kingston Road and Lake Road itself are all closed to traffic and pedestrians. Fratton Road has been reopened.

Police have arrested two men following a serious assault in Portsmouth in the early hours of this morning.
