Serial Arsonist strikes again in Gosport

Two more reported arson attacks have been carried out on two vehicles in Gosport this evening.
Two more people have become victims as the unknown person continues to put themselves and others at risk.
The new attacks happened on Cleveland Road where a vehicle was left gutted. One resident, Rhys Wiffen,  said, “I was watching TV and I thought I was going crazy as smoke started to come up through the floor of the house. I then had the fire service up in the house using a thermal imaging camera to make sure the fire hadn’t spread to my property.”

Police attack

Another vehicle has also been gutted on Little Woodham Lane, Gosport. Fire crews and Police werecalled to both the incidents, the sixth attack in a number of days.

Police have advised that they have stepped up their patrols in and around the area.

So far no one has been arrested for these new attacks or the ones carried out on Sunday

Earlier in the week Police released the following appeal:

Detective Constable Chris Hudson, said: ‘We are appealing for information about these incidents to come forward. Did you see or hear anything suspicious?

‘I am also keen to hear from any members of the community who may have private CCTV. If you do have your own private CCTV, please contact us as soon as possible.’
