A Southampton Park remained sealed off and under Police guard after a school girl was attacked in the play area this evening. Police have cordoned off a large area of with blue scene tape following the incident that saw 40 other kids watch the foul attack that happened at around 5.30pm on Tuesday evening.
The school girl who has been rushed to Southampton General hospital with a serious head injury was seen being punched and kicked on the ground as a group stood by in shocking fight in Green Park on Wimpson Lane in Southampton. The victim cowered on the floor desperately holding her arms to her head to try to protect herself from the blows. It is also belied that the crowd filmed the attack on their mobile. The vicious attack happened yard from where a talented artist was kicked to death by a group of yobs.
Her attackers, who is thought to be older, punched and kicked her as she begged for them to stop. Emergency services rushed to the park after receiving many called about the vicious attack. An other resident claims that 15 emergency vehicles turned up and parked don the football pitch. Parents have taken to social media pleaded with parent to do the right thing:If you are a parent of one of the children in the crowd, supervise their internet activity sharpish . A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said they sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene and immediately informed Hampshire Police.
A spokesman for Hampshire police said: We were called 5.42pm to reports of a girl who had serious head injuries following an assault in the Green Park area. She was taken to hospital. We deployed 15 police vehicles because of the amount of young people who were reported to be on the scene.
