A winchester property remains sealed off and under Police guard as they continue to investigate after a man named locally as Carl Scott was found in the property just after 5pm on Wednesday.
A neighbour who described the man as a really nice guy who kept himself to himself said they where shocked to find out that it was him. The resident who lives alone said that they where quite worried last night seeing all the Police and the road being sealed off. It's normally very quiet down this end of the road. I remember we had a murder across from the playing area about ten years ago and that really hit everyone. The chap was such a nice guy.
It is understood that Carl mum came to the property this morning to find out that her son has been found by Police after she hadn't spoken to him for a few days and was worried.
Paying tribute to his friend Danny Poole said :"Well Carl Scott we had some mad times in the small of time i knew u 7 8 months you was a good fella r i p mate"
Police were called at 5.31pm on Wednesday 22 March to a report that a man’s body had been found at an address in Birch Court, off Thurmond Crescent, Winchester.
Officers attended and found Carl was dead.
A cordon remains in place around the property and residents have commented on the increased police presence in the area. Police cars and Van have been in the road all day. Three Teams of forensic officers have also been at the property.
