Police have made an arrest in connection with the murder of Carl Scott.
The 58-year-old from Winchester was arrested on suspicion of murder on the evening of Friday, March 24. He is currently in police custody being questioned by officers.
Officers were called to a house in Birch Court, off Thurmond Crescent, Winchester at 5.31pm on Wednesday 22 March after a member of the public found Mr Scott’s body.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Morgan said: “We are still in the early stages of this investigation and we are following various lines of enquiry to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.
“In particular, we are trying to build up a picture of Mr Scott’s lifestyle and movements.
“Therefore I am continuing to appeal for anyone who knew Mr Scott and had contact with him since February 1 this year to contact us. You may hold information that could be vital to our investigation.
“A cordon at the address will remain in place for the next few days while we carry out further enquiries.
“Once again, I would like to thank local residents for their patience while this takes place.”
Police are trying to build up picture of Mr Scott’s movements and would like to speak to anyone who knew Mr Scott and had contact with him since February 1 this year.
