OAP Robbed in his own Home in Portsmouth Name Please

Police have released an E-fit of a man they would like to speak to after an elderly man was burgled in Cosham.
At around 2.30pm on Tuesday 28 February, a man turned up at the 88-year-old victim’s flat on Westerham Close and said he needed to look at the kitchen due to some work being completed in the flat above.

The victim allowed the man in for a short time, but later noticed that his wallet had been moved from within a drawer in the living room and cash had been taken.

He has described the man as:

-White
-Aged in his 30s
-Approximately 6ft tall
-Slim, with a pointy nose

The man was described as wearing black trousers, a black denim jacket, a black cap, and gloves.

Officers would like to speak to anyone with information about this incident, but are particularly keen to identify the man in the E-fit as he may have information to assist enquiries.

Detective Constable Gemma Tullett, from Fratton CID, said: “Do you recognise the man in the E-fit? We would like to talk to him as part of enquiries into this burglary.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw a man matching the description provided by the victim in the area at this time, or anyone acting suspiciously. The man may not have been acting alone in this incident.

“I would like to reassure members of the public that this appears to be an isolated incident in the area at this time.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Tullett on 101, quoting 44170035573, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
