Resident on the Bath Road in Littlewick Green near Reading in Berkshire are up in arms after Thames water sent contractors out to fix a small leak that has been know about for the past six months. Contractors started digging up the road at remain for nearly six hours using jack hammers diggers and other machinery into the early hours of the morning.


Twenty houses were affected by the drilling that echo and bounced off their home until gone 2am. Workers said the works had been planned but classed them as an emergency. It is understood that the small leak had been know about for nearly six month and was not service affecting. Many residents complained about the anti-social works. One resident a woman in her 90's said last time we had work they left the traffic lights outside for three week I wouldn't of minded so much but the noise from the generator kept me awake. Who plans all these works.
