Police and Fire and rescue service special water search and rescue teams have been called in to search for popular missing Fleetrunner Mark Baldwin.

It is understood that Police have taken to step to search the Basingstoke Canal on Reading Road in Fleet as a result of information from a local dog walker who spotted a man fitting missing Mark description.

Police have been search the canal since early Monday morning, further support was called in from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Crews from Cosham and Basingstoke where called just after 8pm on Monday evening and carried out a search of a large area of waterway. The search was called off due to poor light and has resumed this morning.

UPDATE:
Sadly Hampshire Police have confirmed that a body has been found. Officers searching for a missing man from Fleet have discovered a body.
The family of 45-year-old Mark Baldwin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Formal identification procedures are ongoing.
At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious.
It is requested that the privacy of the family is respected.
