Fire Crews called to a Fire at the Alresford Fire Station Oops

Winchester, Hampshire Sunday 14th May 2017 Firefighters where left a bit red faced after they were called to a blaze at an unusual location a fire station. It is understood that the blaze broke out in the drying room at the station used to dry fire fighting kit.

Pumps from Winchester, Hightown and Alton were called to the retained station at Alresford and used a water jet, hose reel, and four sets of breathing apparatus to put out the fire. The fire station will continue to operate business as usual. Our resilience planning helps us to continue to protect our communities.The building is shared with Hampshire Police but no staff were in the building at the time, and everyone has been accounted for. An investigation will be carried out into the blaze, which happened at just after 10.30am on Sunday.
