Fire crews from five stations are battling to save a Romsey home which is currently on fire crews were called just before 11am this morning.

40 Firefighters from Romsey, Redbridge, Eastleigh, St Mary’s and Southsea are battling to save the house in Winchester Road, Romsey. The road has been closed in both directions to traffic by police Winchester Road in both directions between Cupernham Lane and A3057 Southampton Road has been blocked by hard closures

Stagecoach South have advised that Winchester 66 Services due to the incident buses are diverting via Fishlake Meadows Cupernham lane

Bluestar‏ have also advised due to the closures by police the B*4 will be diverting along the A27 from the Luzborough.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they believe the house is saveable as the blaze tears through the ground and first floor of the two-storey house.
