Police Launch Man Hunt After Woman attacked in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Portsmouth.

At some time between 2.45am and 3.25am on Saturday 13 May the 19-year-old victim was approached by a man who tried to talk to her. She ignored him and continued walking. When she was on Bradford Road, the man grabbed her, pulled her underpants, causing them to rip off.

He then ran away with the underwear.

The man police want to speak to is described as: white, aged between 20 and 23, of a skinny build and with a skinny pale face. He was 5ft 11ins to 6ft. He was wearing a black / dark blue hooded top with the hood up. The top had a zip on the front and he had a white t-shirt underneath. He was also wearing tracksuit bottoms which matched his top.

Detective Constable Peter Eamer, said: “At this time we believe this was an isolated incident. We would like to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident.

“As always we would ask people to avoid walking alone at night. Keep to well lit areas and try to stay with friends. If you see anyone acting suspiciously or have any information about this incident, please call us immediately.”
