Fire Crews Called to House Fire thats Well Alight in Basingstoke

Fire crews from Basingstoke and two other surrounding stations have been called to a house fire in Worting road this morning. There are 25 firefighters on the scene and the road has been closed off by Police. The fire has spread through the property to the roof area of the semi.
Firefighters are trying to stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.
The Fire service were called at 9.53am this morning (Friday). The road is currently closed in both directions at the junction with Penrith Road.

The well-developed fire has spread across the first and second floors of the three three story property

It is understood that an aerial ladder had to be requested that was being sent from Winchester to the incident.
Large black plums of smoke can be seen rising from a property in Worting Road.
A large crowd of onlooking from neighbouring properties and businesses has started to form in the street.
Local buses have also been affected by the on going incident. All services in Basingstoke using Worting Road will divert till further notice the services affected are routes 3,4,11 and 76
A spokesperson for Hampshire fire and Rescue said” Thankfully nobody was injured in the incident they have advised If you live nearby please keep your windows and doors shut”
