Two Towers in Portsmouth found to have same Clad as Grenfell

Following the Grenfell Tower fire last week, Portsmouth City Council has carried out checks on all 13 high-rise blocks and low-rise blocks across the city. [High rise blocks are categorised as over 7 storeys and over 9 storeys].
PCC have identified cladding on two buildings which they have sent samples of to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) for testing, following a request on Tuesday. These blocks were clad around 2002 and are thought to comply with British Government Building Standards.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service are pushing for sprinkler systems to be installed in all tower blocks as a matter of urgency.
