Emergency services are working to free those trapped in a vehicle following a serious collision on the A331 near Farnborough between a HGV and a silver BMW 320 Convertible car. Fire crews from both Surrey and Hampshire have been called to the incident just after 6.45 on Saturday evening. Police officers from both Surrey and Hampshire Police have also been called to the scene.
Twelve Police cars are currently at the scene along with officers from Highways Englands who are putting out screen on the Eastbound carriage way.
The road is closed on the southbound towards the M3 Junction.
A land ambulance took one person away from the scene. Witness who’d gathered on top of the bridge said that they sayw one person being taken away by Police officer.
Drivers are being advised to avoid joining the A331 at Mytchett. There are also long delays reported from the Farnborough Gate Retail Park. It is understood that fire crews are using cutting equipment to free those involved. Police are advising :The A331 is CLOSED northbound at the Frimley junction. No access back on at the same roundabout towards M3.
It is also understood that the air ambulance has also been sent to the scene
Spokeswoman from Surrey Fire rescue said both Hampshire Surrey appliances attended the incident and two persons been freed from the vehicle. Police have said that the road is likely to remain closed until the early hours of Sunday morning whilst a crash scene investigation takes place
