They have also charged Billy Midmore, 22, of London with Conspiracy to commit Grievous Bodily Harm with intent. Both will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court in the Morning.
33-year-old woman, also arrested in connection with the incident, was released on bail.
John Montague, Senior District Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in Wessex, said: “I have today authorised Hampshire Police to charge Geoffrey Midmore and Billy Midmore with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent on Carla Whitlock.
“I have also authorised Hampshire Police to charge Geoffrey Midmore with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
“It is alleged that acid was thrown on Ms Whitlock’s face on 18 September 2015, outside the Turtle bay restaurant in Southampton.
“I carefully reviewed all the available evidence provided to me by Hampshire Police, and in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction and it is in the public interest to prosecute these two men with these offences.
“They will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 1 October 2015.
“Proceedings are now ongoing and the defendants have the right to a fair trial. It is very important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
