Hampshire Police have confirmed that one arrest has been made following a Tweet posted this afternoon by a Southampton fan that referred to blowing up children at Fratton Park.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said “We received various reports regarding a comment made on the Twitter social networking site at 2.07pm this afternoon.
“A 22-year-old man from Shirley in Southampton has been arrested and is currently helping officers with their inquiries.”
The Tweet, published on the Twitter profile of prolific Southampton football hooligan, Jack Jameson read, “Love to let a bomb off in the family section of fratton park watch all the kids blow up.”
His Twitter profile became private two hours after the Tweet was first published and this evening the entire account was permanently removed from the social network.

Jameson, 22, of English Road, Southampton, was issued with a four-year football banning order last February at Southampton Magistrates’ Court after being identified as the ringleader in a riot before Saints’ Europa League tie with Dutch side Vitesse in August, 2015.
He had previously already been subject to a three-year banning order in Bristol in 2010, when he was just 16.
The Criminal Justice & Courts Act, 2015, increased the sentence for sending a grossly offensive message, or one which conveys a threat, to a maximum penalty of 2 years’ imprisonment.
