A Chinese take-away in Southsea has been hit overnight as the epidemic crimewave hitting in the area sees no sign of abating.
The Spicy House in Grove Road South was targeted between 2am and 8.30am this morning. The thieves broke in through the front door before stealing cash.
Neighbours either side of the Chinese, including Absolute Running one side and Days Lettings the other side, as well at the local Waitrose, have also been hit in recent weeks.
Over 100 independent Southsea traders have been hit this year, with the front doors being smashed in during the early hours of the morning, despite business leaders pleading for an increased police presence in the area.
Anyone with any information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 441 7029 2698. Alternatively you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111 or give info via http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/ .
