Police appeal after Man Left Serious Following M3 Collision

Bagshot,Surrey Wednesday 18th October 2017 Police and Highways England have closed the M3 Motorway northbound near Bagshot towards the M25 following a serious single vehicle collision. Emergency crews rushed to the incident just before 11am on Wednesday morning. The White Ford transit Flatbed owned by Inspired Joinery Suppliers to The Prince's House at the Ideal Home Show 2012" ploughed into fencing in the new section of smart motorway between junctions 3 and junction 2 of the M3 in Surrey Surrey Fire and Rescue sent two appliances to the incident but confirmed that the driver was not trapped and have been assisting Police with making the scene safe. The Kent and Surrey Air ambulance also attended the scene and landed on the carriageway. It is understood that the driver was flown to hospital with serious injuries. Roadwork's narrowly escaped being hit by the vehicle as it ploughed into cones and closure signs. Police at the scene have said that the closure is likely to remain in place for sometime whilst collision and accident investigation work is carried out ©UKNIP

A man is in hospital in a serious condition following a single vehicle collision on the M3 at Lightwater this morning (18 October).

Officers were called to the northbound carriageway at Junction 3 around 11am, following reports that a white Ford transit van had left the carriageway.

The driver of the van, a man in his 50s who was the single occupant, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident and motorists are thanked for their patience.
