Cashpoint Ram Raiders Strike Again Attacking Cooperative In Cox Lane Ewell

A daring gang of Thieves have carried out an other ram-raid overnight in Surrey, A Ewell Cooperative was their chosen target in the early hours. It is understood a cash machine has been stolen with a large amount of cash has been taken and is now being hunted by police.
A vehicle was driven into the front windows of Co-op in Cox Road at around 4am on Monday (November 27). The store remains under lockdown and is being guard by Police.


It is understood that the National Air support helicopter was called in to pursue the vehicle that made off from the scene after an upstairs neighbour contacted Police.
Investigations are being hampered as the thieves have damaged the locks into the shop.
Tools used to attack the cash machine have been left abandon on the car park these have been covered by a plastic sheet. One piece of important evidence a black stocking mask can be seen in a heap

Staff who asked not to be named said they where upset and gutted we are part of the community and we do a-lot for the community it feels like we have been wronged

The shop will be closed while scene of crime officers comb the area for clues and building works are carried out to make the shop safe.


A spokesman for Surrey Police said “Officers will be patrolling the area to provide reassurance to the local community while investigations continue.

“We are now working extremely hard to piece together exactly what occurred and find those responsible, and would urge anybody with information to contact us as soon as possible.

“In particular we are urging landowners to check their property for anything which may be connected to this incident and may have been dumped by the offenders as they left the scene.

“We would also like to speak to anybody who was in the area at the time of the offence and saw something which seemed suspicious or out of place.”
