Fatal Collision on the A2 Closes M25 Exit near Dartford in Kent

A fatal collision has resulted in the closure of the A2/M25 interchange this evening near Dartford in Kent.
Emergency services were called just after 10 past midnight on Thursday morning to a Blue Van than had rolled a number of times and came to rest on it’s side. Witnesses have claimed that High winds in the area blew the Van over on to its side.



Despite efforts of Emergency services the collision resulted in a fatally being declared at the scene. We understand that at least one person has been killed. Officers from Kent Policing Serious collision investigation unit have spent the night in foul weather carrying out there investigation one factor they are looking into is the crosswinds in the area. A large amount of crash barrier was also damaged as a result of the single vehicle collision. The investigation is likely to take sometime will continue into the early hours of the morning(Thursday). A section of the A2 is closed westbound within the M25 junction along with the westbound exit for M25. Drivers are being advised by Highways England who wish to access the M25 they should use the fast link for anti clockwise to junction 1A and turn and return for M25 clockwise.
A spokesman for Highways England has advised that the closure has been extended on the A2 in Kent It has now been closed westbound from the B255 Bean Interchange to M25 J2. This closure is likely to be in place until at least 6.15am on Thursday and may have issues with rush hour traffic using this section of the road network. The closure is in place to assist Kent Police with there accident invesigation.
