Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating the death of a woman at her home in Hillingdon.
A 51-year-old man attended a north London police station at 1.06pm on Sunday, 13 May stating that he had harmed a woman at a residential address.
Officers attended the address in Gade Close, Hayes and found a woman in her seventies deceased.
The death is being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits.
The 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a west London police where he remains in custody at this time.
Detectives from the Homicide and major crime command are investigating.
At this early stage, police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death. The victim and the arrested man were known to each other.
