Police are appealing for information after an elderly couple were attacked at their Dockenfield home and burgled in the early hours of this morning (14 May).
A man knocked the front door of an elderly couple’s home at 1am and pushed his way in. He punched the woman, who is in her 70s, in the face and hit the man, who is in his 80s, with a crowbar, before demanding money from their safe.
The suspect fled the scene with a sum of money, including euros.
The couple were taken to Frimley Park Hospital for their injuries. They have since been discharged.
The suspect was described as:
In his early 20s
Between 5’ 8” and 6’ tall
He had his face covered and was wearing gloves
He was described as well-spoken
Detective Sergeant Louise Mills said: “This was a particularly nasty attack against an elderly couple in their own home.
“I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen somebody matching the description of the suspect in Dockenfield around the time of the incident, or anyone else that has any information, as it could be vital to our investigation.”
