Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are this morning continuing to search for the weapon used to stab an 18-year-old a teenager from Cowes in the back twice. As previously first reported Police and emergency services descended on to Love Lane in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Crime investigators have been called in to support Isle of Wight police officers to yield any forensics left by three men who carried out the cowardly act before making off in a vehicle.
A teenager remains in hospital. Police have flooded the area with Police community support officers to reassure residents who are waking up in the middle of a crime scene. One shocked resident who asked not to be named said that she heard the attack take place and the offenders make off toward their vehicle. I knew something was wrong said the mother of one. Whats going on the Isle is turning into a very nice place to be. I have always felt safe but waking up to this I just thought the noise was a group of kids being noisy coming from the park. From Police sources, it is understood that the attack was captured on a business owners CCTV. Forensic officers have donned white paper suits to examination the scene and look to the outstanding weapon that was thrown during the frenzied attack.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that an 18-year-old male from Cowes has sustained 2 stab wounds to his back. The injuries are not life-threatening.
