Officers investigating a robbery in Old Town, Swindon, have released a CCTV image as part of their enquiries.
The image shows two people we are keen to speak to in relation to this incident.
The robbery occurred in Croft Road, opposite St Margaret’s Road, Swindon, at approximately 11.20pm on April 22.
An 81-year-old man was walking home when he was struck from the rear causing him to fall to the ground. His wallet and keys were stolen during the robbery.
The victim managed to walk home and paramedics attended his address – he was then taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment.
Searches of the area were conducted by officers, with the assistance of police dogs but unfortunately no offenders were located.
Det Con Mark Harris, of Swindon CID, said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked incident which has left an elderly man with head and neck injuries.
“We have been carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident to try and identify those involved. As the victim was attacked from behind, he has been unable to give a description of those involved, but we have released this CCTV image of two people of interest, who we are keen to identify and speak to.
“The two men are seen walking past the Wheatsheaf pub, before turning into the top of Croft Road just prior to the victim.”
“If you think this may be you, or you know who it may be, we are keen to hear from you.”
