On Monday afternoon, emergency services conducted a successful rescue operation after two individuals were stranded by the incoming tide along the Thames near Wapping.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB), Metropolitan Police, and a specialized mud team collaborated to ensure the safety of those affected.
The incident unfolded when the pair became trapped on the riverbank as water levels rose unexpectedly. Responding promptly, the LFB deployed their fire boat to navigate the challenging conditions, while the mud team provided essential support on the river’s edge.

Authorities have reiterated the importance of being aware of tidal patterns when near the river. The Thames experiences significant tidal shifts, and it’s crucial for individuals to stay informed and exercise caution to prevent similar incidents.

No injuries were reported, and both individuals were assessed and found to be in good health following the rescue.

For those spending time along the Thames, it’s advisable to consult tide timetables and remain vigilant to the river’s changing conditions.
