The latest criminal cases heard at Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Court between June 3 and June 9 have seen a string of alarming offences, including threats with knives in a church, a teenager wielding a sword on a bus, and multiple thefts from local shops.


Man Admits Knife Threat in Orpington Church

Benjamin Forrest, 28, of Meadway, Halstead, admitted threatening a man with a knife at Green Street Baptist Church, Orpington, on September 23, 2024.

  • Sentence: Six-month prison term, suspended for one year.


Repeat Shoplifter Jailed After Bexleyheath Theft

Ryan Brook, 35, of Cumbrian Avenue, Bexleyheath, pleaded guilty to stealing from the Co-op on June 2.

  • Sentence: Eight-week prison term, due to a “considerable history of similar offending.


Teen Found with Sword on London Bus

A 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to carrying a black sword on the No. 2 bus travelling from Marylebone to Norwood.

  • Sentence: Youth Rehabilitation Order with intensive supervision and surveillance.


Man Caught with Stun Gun and Zombie Knife in Forest Hill

Joshua McCook, 26, of Parry Street, Forest Hill, admitted possession of:


Drink Driver Caught in Lewisham

Steven Stewart, 47, of Sigdon Road, Dalston, admitted drink driving on Orchid Close, Lewisham on March 2.


Bromley Shoplifter Jailed

Alexander Dakin-Wilson, 28, of Langdon Road, Bromley, admitted theft from:

  • Wine Rack (twice)

  • Boots (once) in May

  • Sentence: 26 weeks in prison
