A vicious man has been locked up for 30 years following a horrifying campaign of abuse that escalated into a savage stabbing and rape.
Years of Torture End in Near-Fatal Attack
Gurwinder Singh, 36, from Walsall, subjected a woman to relentless verbal insults, physical assaults, and stalking. His twisted control spiralled into violence that left the victim fighting for her life.
Knife Attack and Rape That Shocked Stafford Crown Court
On May 6 last year, Singh broke into the victim’s home wielding a knife. He stabbed her multiple times in the arm, chest, and stomach. The court heard it was “only a matter of millimetres” that she didn’t die.
Singh then stripped and raped the woman, repeatedly threatening to kill her.
Swift Justice for Horrific Crimes
Police arrested Singh soon after the attack on suspicion of attempted murder and rape. He was found guilty after a trial earlier this year and appeared at Stafford Crown Court this week for sentencing.
Judges handed down a 30-year jail term, ensuring Singh pays for his brutal and relentless abuse.
