West Midlands Fire Flood Rescue Team Sent to Wednesbury
At 10.39am this morning (Thursday 26 April) West Midlands Fire and resuce started to receive 999 calls reporting a significant flooding incident in the Bannister Road and Leabrook Road area of Wednesbury. A number of homes have been evacuated following water reaching 3 meters in height it appears that there has been a significant rupture to a water main. It is understood that electrical cables where being installed in the local area. Area Commander Ben Brook of West Midlands Fire Service said: “We currently have around 30 firefighters at the scene, including water rescue teams. “We are working closely with the other emergency services and other agencies.
