Police in Ipswich are urgently seeking witnesses or information related to a reported serious sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of Friday, September 29. The incident transpired between midnight and 01:30 BST near a towpath close to the stake park at Stoke Bridge in the town centre.
According to the victim, a woman in her 30s, she was forcibly taken into bushes near the towpath by two men. Regrettably, the victim experienced a sexual assault, after which the perpetrators left the scene. The police have established a scene at the location as they diligently investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Specially trained officers are providing support to the victim during this challenging time. Local officers are actively patrolling the area, and members of the public with concerns are encouraged to approach them for assistance.
