A boy, aged 17, from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted murder in Reading.

 

A boy, aged 17, from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

The stabbing attack  happened at around 7.40pm today (19/9) in Coley Avenue, Reading.

A 44-year-old man has sustained stab wounds and has been taken to hospital in a serious condition, where he remains at this time.

Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Emily Evans, said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation and would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything in the area of Coley Avenue this evening.

“If you have CCTV in the area, please could you check this and if there is something significant please share this with police.

“A thorough investigation has begun and there will be an increased police presence in the area. Please stop and speak to the officers if you have any concerns or information.

 “The incident is being treated as an isolated incident and the team of officers will work hard to find those responsible.

“If you do have information and think you could help with this investigation please contact the non-emergency Thames Valley Police number 101, or make a report online using the reference 43200294837.
