cyclist dies after fordingbridge hit and run

A 70-year-old cyclist from Salisbury has died after suffering head injuries after being involved in a fail to stop collision on the A338 at Fordingbridge almost a month ago.

Police are still appealing for information to help trace the van involved.

The van, captured on CCTV, is believed to be the one which was involved in the collision with the cyclist on the A338 Salisbury Road, at 9.20am on April 28.

Officers are also in a position to confirm the registration of the white Ford Transit flatbed vehicle, which is BU53 FVM.

The 70-year-old cyclist, from Salisbury, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he was being treated. However he died on Wednesday, May 18, from his injuries.

Since the collision roads policing officers have been conducting extensive investigations to track down the vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

Officers are urging anyone with any information about this incident to call them on 101, quoting Operation Addition (44160159994)

You can also call the charity Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
