Detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Haringey have identified the victim and are still looking for witnesses

A murder investigation was launched after police were called to reports of a shooting on High Road, N22, around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24.

Officers, including firearms officers, responded and discovered Camilo Palacio, 23, with a gunshot wound.

Officers immediately provided first aid until London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service arrived.

Camilo, from Enfield, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 10pm despite the efforts of the emergency services.

His next of kin have been notified, and they are being assisted by specialist officers.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

“My officers are very keen to hear from anyone who can help us identify the person responsible for Camilo’s death,” said Detective Chief Inspector Perry Benton, who is leading the investigation.

“A young man’s life was brutally ended on a public street, and a family is now struggling to cope with their loss – if there was ever a time to break the wall of silence, this is it.”

“If you have information, dash-cam or mobile phone footage relating to this murder, no matter how minor or insignificant, please do the right thing and contact us.”

“Whether you contact us in person or anonymously through Crimestoppers, please share what you know.”

Anyone with information should call the incident room at 0208 358 0400, dial 101, or tweet @MetCC with the reference 7238/24Jul.

To remain completely anonymous, contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or go to crimestoppers-uk.org.
