For the first time, lucky vino-loving shoppers will be invited to Aldi HQ’s taste kitchens to taste test ‘never been sipped’ wines

Budget supermarket Aldi has launched a nationwide search for three budding wine enthusiasts to trial and test wines alongside its buying team.
For the first time, lucky vino-loving shoppers will be invited to Aldi HQ’s taste kitchens to taste test ‘never been sipped’ wines.
With coaching from ‘Mistress of Wine’, Sam Caporn MW, they’ll join Aldi’s expert buyers in deciding which wines will feature in its upcoming range launching in September.
The opportunity comes as Aldi sees more shoppers eager to try new and innovative wines.
Over the past year, the Aldi wine range has encompassed more unexpected premium wines than ever before, from countries as far-reaching as China to Canada.
Now Aldi is putting it to shoppers to help decide what wonderful creations should take pride of place on shelves in the lead up to Christmas.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “What shoppers want and need is our top priority.
“We’ve always been keen to hear feedback from our wine-loving customers about what they want to see ours on shelves.
“It helps the wine buying team shape the wine ranges into what they are: high quality, not to mention delicious wines that shoppers want to drink.
“It’s a very exciting proposition for us and an amazing opportunity for an Aldi wine-lover to see their favourite wine stocked on our shelves this year.”
Aldi will send the testers a selection of the final wines for free before they launch on Aldi’s shelves.

To apply for the Aldi wine tasting opportunity, shoppers simply need to send an email to wineclub@aldi.co.uk
