Officers were called to a premises on the High Street around 11 p.m. on Saturday (23rd July) after reports that a man had been stabbed behind the address.
The victim, a man in his twenties, was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital with superficial stab wounds to his stomach and leg.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed the arrest of a 29-year-old Sandown man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was arrested earlier today (Wednesday) at Newport Police Station by officers investigating the Saturday night incident.
He is still being held at this time.
