help support love your football club

The #LoveYourClub scheme asks supporters to pledge to raise a minimum of £50 for Gosport Borough Football Club in an attempt to recoup some of the £40,000 black hole in the budget left by the sudden removal of sponsorship from Jim Fallon.

The £50 can be raised however you like, you could: hold a raffle, a quiz night, complete a bag pack, cut your neighbour’s grass, have a swear box, a sponsored cycle or even host a charity football match!

All pledges will be listed in the matchday programme, the website and the Gosport Globe and your name will turn from red to green when you have reached your pledge. There will also be a thermometer showing the total amounts pledged and raised.

Paul Maidment, Chairman of the Supporters Club commented:

“I am ecstatic to launch the #LoveYourClub scheme. After the news earlier in the season that Jim Fallon would not be sponsoring the club, we have tried to come up with a way to encourage fans to help support the club and to reduce the impact that this loss will have on the club.

We already have 20 supporters signed up who have pledged to raise a minimum of £1000 between them. This scheme shows how a little bit of help can make such a big difference to our club and I would encourage all Boro’ fans to get on board!”

Gosport supporter, Fred Dinenage said:

“I am pleased to be supporting Gosport Borough Football Club’s #LoveYourClub Scheme.

This scheme, which is promoted by thr GBFC Supporters Club Chairman, is a great way for Gosport fans and companies to get behind their local club and make a real difference.

That’s why I am delighted to pledge to raise £50 for GBFC to help take the club forward!”
