The M3 Southbound has been closed following a car fire this afternoon. Police and Fire crews rushed to the scene and smoke could be seen on a near by house estate as the car burst into flames.

The M3 southbound between Junction 6 and Junction 7 still has long tail backs following the incident and the extra traffic trying to avoid the closed A3 near Guildford is not helping. Further delays have been caused within that section on motorway following a car transporter breaking down this is currently blocking a lane on the southbound carriage and a separate incident is adding to the delays on the southbound neat Junction 5 Hook involving a car that has been in collision with an ambulance.
